An article by The Age on the Antarctica phase of the expedition (in print Sunday’s paper tomorrow!) Thank you to everyone who is here with me at the beginning of this journey. Apologies for the radio silence, since commencing the ride I’ve been absorbed in the moment following South America’s mountainous spine northward approx 4500kms through spectacular Patagonian Andes. I’ve just arrived in Santiago to replace a punctured wheel rim, service the bike and prepare for the onward passage. Finally some down-time with wifi to share the journey to date with you and bring the feed to realtime.

The Expedition

The 1SKY.earth Expedition is a 4.5 year journey around the planet from Antarctica to Mount Everest being undertaken by adventurer Liam Suckling.

Commenced December 26th 2016, the 100,000-mile journey will cross 77 countries over the 7 continents. The purpose of the journey is to use adventure and exploration to connect and inspire people to go beyond personal and collective boundaries.

Liam invites you to follow the journey and share in the gifts of perspective that arise from our remarkable planet and the stories of the humans that inhabit it.
